About CBD Green Labs

Why this site exists

Shopping for CBD and hemp products is confusing, and it’s confusing by design.

Two bottles sit side by side. One says 1000mg, the other says 1500mg. One is
“full spectrum,” the other “broad spectrum.” One costs twice as much. Nothing on
either label tells you which is actually better value, what the difference means,
or whether the company behind it has ever had its products independently tested.

Meanwhile the category keeps expanding. What used to be “CBD” now includes
Delta-8, THCA, THC-P, HHC, CBG, CBN — cannabinoids with real differences in
potency and legality that most shopping sites won’t explain, because explaining
them makes the sale harder.

We built CBD Green Labs to do the part nobody else wants to do: the reading, the
comparing, and the plain-English explaining, so you can make your own decision
instead of guessing.

What we actually do

We’re an independent review and comparison site. We don’t grow hemp, we don’t
manufacture products, and we don’t ship anything. We research what’s available,
compare it, and tell you what we found.

In practice, that means:

We read the labels properly. A “1000mg” jar of gummies isn’t a 1000mg dose —
it’s the total across the whole jar. We do that math so you don’t have to, and we
compare products on price-per-milligram, which is the number that actually tells
you what you’re paying for.

We explain the cannabinoids. THCA converts to THC when you heat it. Delta-8
is milder than Delta-9. THC-P is considerably stronger than both. These aren’t
marketing distinctions — they change what a product does. We say so plainly.

We look for third-party lab testing. A Certificate of Analysis from an
independent lab is the single clearest signal that a company will stand behind
what’s in the bottle. We prioritize products that publish one.

We flag the legal reality. Hemp-derived cannabinoids are federally legal under
the 2018 Farm Bill, but many states restrict or ban intoxicating ones. We tell you
that up front rather than letting you find out at checkout.

What we don’t do

We think it matters to be clear about the limits of what we are.

We’re not a store. Every product on this site links out to the retailer that
actually sells it. We never handle your order, your payment, or your shipping.

We’re not doctors. Nothing here is medical advice, and we don’t make health
claims. We’ll tell you what a product contains and how people typically use it —
we won’t tell you it treats or cures anything, because we don’t know that and
neither does anyone else selling it.

We don’t pretend everything is great. If a category has a catch — like the
fact that half the hemp market is sized in grams and can’t be compared on
milligrams at all — we’d rather say so than paper over it.

How we make money

CBD Green Labs is reader-supported. When you buy through a link on our site, the
retailer pays us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it’s how we keep
the lights on.

Here’s the part worth saying out loud: that model creates an obvious incentive to
tell you to buy things. We’d rather you trust us for the long haul than click once
today, so we try to write the guide we’d want to read — including the parts that
talk you out of a purchase. If a cheaper product is the better buy, we say so.
If a category isn’t worth it for most people, we say that too.

Our standards

When we feature a product, we’re looking for:

  • Third-party lab testing — a current, published COA.
  • Honest labeling — clear per-serving milligrams, not just headline numbers.
  • A real company behind it — an established brand with a track record.
  • Fair value — measured on price-per-milligram, not sticker price.

We don’t accept payment for placement or positive reviews.

A word on safety

Many of the products we cover are intoxicating and intended for adults 21 and
over. Hemp laws vary significantly by state and change often — please check your
local laws before ordering anything.

If you take medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a health condition, talk
to a doctor before using CBD or hemp products. If you’re giving CBD to a pet, talk
to your veterinarian.
